Inspired by conversations with local archaeologists, the Henry Street Bridge Project at Greenlawn Cemetery, and artistic archaeological research abroad in Rome where preservation has been negotiated over centuries, the exhibition reflects on Indianapolis as a comparatively young city at the beginning of that conversation.

“I am not an archaeologist. I come to this work as a citizen of Indianapolis, an artist, and someone endlessly curious about archaeology.”

The exhibition is envisioned as an archaeological park, where visitors can explore, look closely, and imagine themselves as archaeologists. By connecting Indianapolis to a larger, global conversation about preservation and responsibility, the work shows that these questions are shared, alive, and ongoing.
